A big band will be making a welcome return to Bradwell village hall today (Sept 27).

After two previous appearances of the Mack Big Band at Bradwell, their Essex fans who have joined the wide following of the 17 musicians and three singers are in for another treat this weekend.

Based in South London, Mack Big Band carries on the traditional big band sound of the original Ken Mackintosh orchestra.

The Bradwell performances have been introduced by tenor saxophone member Martin Appleson who combines his Bradwell residency with weekly rehearsals in Morden.

The £13 ticket for Saturday includes fish and chips and drinks can be bought from the available bar.

People can also bring along their own food and beverages.

The first part of the evening will focus on traditional big band favourites while the second section aims to get the audience dancing to both musical classics from the past along with rock and roll and modern dance numbers made popular by singers such as Michael Buble and Natalie Cole.

Doors open at 7.30pm with music starting at 8.15pm.

As well as tickets available at the Bradwell community shop, tickets (with a 50p online surcharge) are available via www.mackbigband.co.uk with payments accepted via Paypal.
