A Burnham boat builder is both exhausted and exhilarated after breaking a world record by rowing across the Indian Ocean.

Angus Collins was a member of the Fast Row West team, which has become the youngest four man crew to cross the Indian Ocean.

The crew, all British boys under age 24, finished their journey in the Seychelles last Wednesday (Sept 10) after completing an historic row of 3,370 nautical miles (3,878 statute or land miles) from Exmouth, Western Australia in 71 days, 14 hours and 51 minutes.

Angus, who works at Rannoch Adventure in Marsh Road, said: “The last 24 hours was the best moment of my life because you suddenly see land and you see family and friends."
