Residents of all ages have embraced the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge with open arms.
At wedding anniversaries, in the street and dressed in crazy costumes people are doing their challenge all over the place.
Evie Mitchell, three, of Halston Place, Maldon, decided to follow in her family’s footsteps and carry out the challenge herself.
Her video, which has been viewed almost 500 times on Youtube, shows the little girl dressed up and nominating four people, before giving the camera a thumbs up.
Her father Gary Mitchell, 34, a water treatment works controller, said: “Evie wanted to do it because she wanted ‘to help other people’ like her mummy, daddy and big brother, Alfie, eight, had done.
“There was ice in Evie’s bucket, although a token amount as I was worried about her, as a daddy’s little girl."
See The Maldon and Burnham Standard next week for more readers doing their challenges.
