The death of Robin Williams from an apparent suicide has left people all around the world feeling stunned that he could be suffering from depression.
It is believed he fought the illness for years, something that is difficult to understand when remembering his outwardly happy demeanour, comedic film roles and enthusiasm on stage.
Yet the sad news announced last week has shown that everyone and anyone can suffer from the illness.
It is true that it should not take the death of a celebrity to get people to sit up and take notice of such a serious condition but in this case, it has brought the issue to the forefront of people’s minds and has already raised awareness of the condition and the help that is out there.
