There were “lots of smiley faces” as primary school pupils hunted for mini-beasts, bugs and owls at Stow Maries Aerodrome.
About thirty pupils from Purleigh Primary, in Pump Lane, were invited to a discovery day at the aerodrome, in Hackmans Lane.
The children split into three groups at the aerodrome, which has appeared on the BBC’s Springwatch and Autumnwatch programs, to try and find as many different types of wildlife as they could.
Russell Savoury, the aerodrome manager, said: “It was a great day, the weather was good and they found all sorts of things, from voles and slow worms to insects and owls."
