Pupils from The Plume School will travel to China to attend the Essex-Jiangsu China Sports Summer Camp and the opening ceremony of the Youth Olympic Games.
Ben King, 15, Dan Thornett, 16, and Ella Hargraves, 16, all of The Plume School will join seven other youngsters from the Anglo European School, in Ingatestone, and The Bromfords School in Wickford, on the trip to the Jiangsu Province in China.
Each pupil will live with a Chinese student and their families during the ten day trip and will visit local schools, take part in sports and activities and attend the International Youth Olympic Games opening ceremony in Nanjing City.
Ben said: "The opportunity to visit a different and evolving culture and to speak the language in the home country will be an amazing experience."
