Bradwell Flower Show and the accompanying dog show proved a hit with locals in a highly successful day last weekend.

The show took place last Saturday and secretary Teresa Fowler, of Hockley Lane, said people were drawn to the show due to it’s community feel.

She said: “It was good, people enjoyed it, the weather held and the hard work paid off.

“It was a good year for entries, especially in the photography section, which was very popular.

“I was very busy most of the day but it’s the fact people say they enjoy it and it’s a lovely show with a lovely relaxed atmosphere.

“It’s not too commercialised, we try to keep it like a country show, not too much but very relaxing."

If you were at the show on Saturday, see if you can spot yourself in pictures in this week's Standard.

I went to this show with my family and some friends and I must say what a lovely show it was.
There were some interesting stalls - bees, owls, etc., and a very good selection of craft and produce stalls, plus swing chairs, face painting (my 3 year old niece particularly enjoyed the hook-a-duck) and bouncy castle for the young ones.

This nice young fella on his stilts was giving a balloon each to all the kiddies at the show which we thought was a nice touch by the organisers and much appreciated by the youngsters in our party.
So thank you Bradwell for an enjoyable afternoon, we hope to see you again next year.
