Young mechanics have been rewarded for their hard work.
Five youngsters, who were taking part in a car mechanic training course run by Rotary and Ormiston Rivers Academy, took part in a timed competition which included changing a tyre, checking, removing and fitting new batteries, checking brakes and changing brake pads.
Points were awarded for each stage and this year the winner for Owen Young, from The Plume School, Maldon.
In second place was Ormiston Rivers pupil, Ben Gibson, and third place was awarded to Liam Day, who also goes to the academy.
The group wished to thank George Rushton who has run the training since 2006 and is now retiring, and Roger Smith.
