Reisdents were surprised police targeted a Burnham street in a drugs crackdown.
Officers raided a property in Normandy Avenue, as well as addresses in Chelmsford, Clacton and Braintree as part of Operation Saturn.
No arrests were made in Burnham but a total of 28 people have been arrested and more than 800 wraps of suspected Class A drugs seized during the crackdown.
A Normandy Avenue resident, who asked not to be named, said: “This is a nice and quiet road, I have lovely neighbours.
“I’ve lived here for 40 years and never had any trouble.”
Operation Saturn began in May and targets suspected criminal gangs who travel to Essex from outside the county.
Joe Heffer, 19, of Worcester Road, Burnham, said: “I’m surprised to hear this is going on as I didn’t know Burnham would be a place they would be searching for drugs.”
Anyone with information about drug dealing or the gangs involved can contact Braintree Police Station on 101 or ring Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
