Heybridge Swifts is moving ahead with plans for a new ground.

The club has played at Scraley Road since 1965 but will not confirm exactly where it wants to relocate.

A statement on its website said: “The football club is proceeding with plans for a new stadium which will be a ten minute walk from their Scraley Road home.

“The new stadium will provide a larger main stand and facilities that will be up to Conference standard, larger clubhouse for more functions and much needed income and training facilities fit for the modern era and the footballers of tomorrow.

“Further news will be announced as we draw closer.”
