The half brother of Maldon’s MP has been charged in connection with a historic allegation of sexual assault.
Charles Napier, 67, from Dorset, was charged with one count of inciting a child to commit an act of gross indecency today.
He is the half brother of Maldon MP John Whittingdale.
Richard Alston, 69, from Suffolk, was charged with five counts of indecent assault and three counts of gross indecency with a child.
Napier and Alston were charged in relation to offences which are alleged to have occurred in the late 1970s when the victim was 11.
They were bailed to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on July 29.
The arrests were made under Operation Cayacos, part of Operation Fairbank.
