A furious mum is calling for action after daughter hit a large pothole on her bike, causing her jaw and knuckles to swell, and cuts and grazes on her body.
Raimee Dowling, ten, had cycled down a hill from the marshes and hit the pothole, which measured about 1ft by about 3ft, in Marsh Road, Burnham.
The family’s GP feared she had broken her jaw because her mouth was drooping on one side and she could not open it properly to eat.
She was given the all clear after a three-and-a-half hour wait at Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford.
Her mum Cara Dowling is asking Essex County Council for an apology and compensation to replace Raimee’s £89 bike, which had is wheels buckled and seat ripped in the impact of Sunday’s accident.
