An animal lover has called for action after a swan lost its cygnets and needed its wing amputated following a fox attack.
Pat Thompson has asked Maldon District Council to build a platform on the lake at Promenade Park, Maldon, for the swans that live there to retreat to when in danger.
Mrs Thompson, of King Street, Maldon, said: "I know the mother has given brith to seven babies, which a fox has got at and eaten all of them.
"The mother was a bloodbath and had to have her wing amputated."
A council spokesman said a platform will be considered.
