A teenager will be shaving her head to raise money towards a new £23,000 electric wheelchair.
Philippa Smith, 13, has cerebral palsy and has used a wheelchair since she was three.
However, the Plume School pupil - who has a twin Matthew, and younger twin sisters Samantha and Georgina, both nine - still plays football, rides horses, has parachuted, skis, swims and rock climbs.
Philippa, who was born ten weeks premature, needs to replace her current wheelchair as it is getting old but only has £3,500 NHS funding towards the cost of a new one.
So she is holding a fair and shaving off her shoulder length hair on Saturday at the family home at 61 Wycke Lane, Tollesbury from 4pm onwards.
There will be stalls, lucky dip, Jenga, trampoline, a penalty shoot-out, table tennis, flick the welly boot game and barbecue. Philippa’s headshave is at 6pm.
