A DOMESTIC abuse campaign has gone international with its audience in the millions.
The ‘Standing Together’ against domestic abuse campaign from Essex County Council and Essex Police was launched last week.
In its first five days, more than 4 million people have been made aware of the campaign via Twitter, Facebook and other online and social media channels.
Views of the domestic abuse pages on the Essex Police website have increased by 710 per cent in just four and a half days and the ‘Standing together’ web film has had almost 1,500 views
People have been supporting the campaign by Tweeting pictures of their feet and uploading onto Twitter or Facebook using the hashtags #notodomesticabuse and #tweetyourfeet to stand together and show their support.
Essex MPs, the Police and Crime Commissioner, MEPs, cabinet members, Ministers at the Welsh Assembly Government, businesses, partner agencies, other councils, members of the community and even pets have all showed their support by getting involved and Tweeting their feet, or paws.
The campaign also had celebrity Rachel Riley from Countdown showing her support and Tweeting her feet.
