An air ambulance was called to help a man who suffered a cardiac arrest in Heybridge.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance, a community first responder, ambulance and response car were called to Holloway Road just after 11am yesterday.

Dr Jeremy Mauger and critical care paramedic Mark Milsom, from the air ambulance, were among those to treat the patient on scene.

Once stabilised, the man, thought to be in his 50s or 60s, was taken to Basildon Hospital by land ambulance.

His condition is described as serious but stable.
