A vehicle fire was handled by fire crews while the Fire Brigade Union staged a 24 hour strike over pensions.
The call came in to crews in Burnham at 3.38pm and the fire was extinguished by 4:01pm.
The incident was one of five across the region in the seventh hour of today's strike.
Firefighters tackled a bonfire burning out of control in a garden centre in Basildon, a rubbish fire in Fern Hill Lane Caravan Site in Harlow and a vehicle fire in Burnham between 3pm and 4pm.
Southend crews also attended a false alarm.
This brings the total number of incidents to ten since strike action began at 9am.
