Tributes have been paid to a dedicated poppy volunteer, who may have raised more than £50,000 in her life.

Beryl Wareham, of Rectory Road, Woodham Walter, has died at the age of 84.

Friends and relatives have shared memories of a dedicated and resourceful woman who was ‘part of Woodham Walter’s history’.

Son Robin Wareham, 50, a sales engineer of Rectory Road, Woodham Walter, said: “To us she was just ‘mum’.

“She just got on with life, even when she lost her leg she got on with things.”
