A teenager walked six miles in a giraffe onesie to raise money for a “trip of a lifetime” to Kenya.
Andrew Taylor, of Birch Wood Road, Cock Clarks needs to raise £3860 to take part in an expedition to Kenya in 2015 with his fellow pupils from William de Ferrers School, in South Woodham Ferrers.
During the four-week trip, which is organised by Camps International, Andrew will have the opportunity to climb Mount Kenya and get involved with local community projects.
Andrew, 15, said: “While I'm in Kenya I will be helping less fortunate people, the group from my school will be helping in local schools and doing building and DIY work.
“We will be planting lots of trees to help the environment.
“We will also be doing a five-day trek up Mount Kenya when we get to the top we will be watching the sun rise over Africa.
“It’s a once in a lifetime expedition.”
Andrew organised and took part in the six mile sponsored walk from his home in Cock Clarks to Maldon High Street and back on Sunday.
