A car was stolen from a driveway and left burnt out in a field on Monday morning.
The car, a black Toyota Corolla, was stolen from the driveway of a house in Memory Close, Maldon.
It was set on fire and dumped at Primrose Meadow, off Meadway, Maldon in the early hours of Monday morning.
Fire engines were called to a car on fire at 3.50am.
Two hose reel jets were used and the fire was quickly extinguished.
Police were called by the fire service and are investigating the incident.
