A wife has praised the “good Samaritans” who helped her husband when he suffered a heart attack at the side of the road.

Stuart and Judith King were heading home after spending time on their boat in Tollesbury Marina when Mr King suddenly became unwell as they were driving home through Goldhanger Road and collapsed in the passenger seat.

Mrs King immediately pulled over and was struggling to assist her husband and call 999 when help arrived in the form of two good Samaritans, who managed to help with CPR and flag down a passing ambulance.

Mrs King, 67, said:  “If they hadn’t acted so quickly he would’ve had lasting damage but now it looks like he’s going to make a full recovery."
