A war memorial has been given a make-over in honour of the centenary of the First World War.
Villagers have pulled together to organise the cleaning up of the war memorial, which is embedded into St Nicholas Church Wall, in Tillingham.
Ellen Hewitt, of Birch Gardens, Tillingham, said: “It’s the anniversary this year so I do think the memorial is important.
“Steve Gunner from Rodwell Memorials, did the actual cleaning and the lettering and Richard Foulkes has been the driving force and co-ordinator behind it.
“It looks an awful lot better and now stands out quite nicely.”
