A family has praised the community spirit after people helped them raise more than £400 for their son.
Joshua Welch, 16, has a genetic condition that impairs his mobility and has to rely on crutches to help him walk, but because he stands at 6ft 7ins tall, he finds it difficult to use standard length crutches.
His mum Sarah and dad Chris, of Teal Avenue, Mayland, hope to make life easier for him by buying a specialist pair from a company in Germany.
To raise the cash they hosted a fundraising tea party at the Scout Hut, in Millfields, Burnham, on Sunday.
About 75 people attended the event and raised £473, enough for the crutches a second hand mobility scooter.
