A father-of-two has been left without any means of transport after vandals covered his car with white paint.
Andy Bishop, 47, of Alexandra Road, Burnham, was left furious after someone threw a tin of paint over his car last Wednesday.
He said: “Someone ran past with a hoody on and threw a tin of gloss paint all over my car.
“They caused about £5,000 worth of damage and it cost £6,000 to start with.
“I might have to get it scrapped now, which I’m gutted about because I only got it last Christmas.”
A police spokesman said: "We were called just before 1pm on May 7 after paint was poured over a car.
"We are seeking witnesses and anyone with information about the incident or who saw the suspects running or driving away, should contact officers at Maldon Police Station on 101."
