Tourism, entrepreneurs and highly skilled jobs will help drive the district to prosperity.
That is the hope of Maldon District Council, which has produced an economic prosperity strategy alongside its Local Development Plan, setting out how the district could look by 2029.
More cultural events and the possibility of a tourism business improvement district (BID) are also planned.
The council also wants to keep and develop high tech companies to provide higher wages and more secure employment.
