A boxing club founded to tackle anti-social behaviour in Mayland raised thousands of pounds at it’s first competitive show.
Mayland Amateur Boxing Club held the show at Three Rivers golf and country club, Cold Norton, on April 11.
Five club fighters entered and thirteen boxing clubs from all over the country, including as far away as Devon, sent competitors.
The £4,500 raised will go back into the clubs coffers, allowing them to continue their work.
Leon Jared, head coach and event organiser, said: “I’m very proud of all of the boxers.
“I wanted to wait a couple of years, before holding a competition, but we needed the money now.
“Of our five boxers, four won, which was fantastic."
