Maldon is more than a thousand years old and over that time the town has had a fair share of murders, hangings and suicides.
These have left plenty of ghostly souls roaming the streets.
Mike and Andrew Steel, of Steel & Steel Tours who run Maldon Ghost Walks, take people round the town telling spooky stories.
Mike, 21, a web-programming student at Aberystwth said: “There is so much history in Maldon that there is barely a spot where there isn’t a ghost and we’re always hearing stories of more that we haven’t come across before.”
Readers have suggested the Moot Hall and Beeleigh Abbey are also both haunted.
Are the rumours true?
Is there no building in Maldon without a ghost?
