Maldon's MP helps mum go on holiday just in the nick of time

Maldon and Burnham Standard: John Whittingdale pulled a few strings at the passport office to ensure Joani St Cliere went on holiday John Whittingdale pulled a few strings at the passport office to ensure Joani St Cliere went on holiday

A mum is praising the efforts of Maldon’s MP after he organised for her daughter’s passport to arrive just in the nick of time - the day before her holiday.

Mum-of-two Joani St Cliere, who lives in Mayland, was left distraught when she could not get information from the passport office about when 15-year-old Amber’s documents would arrive.

With only days to go, she had to face the realisation that the week’s holiday to Egypt could be cancelled.

Three weeks beforehand, she realised Amber’s passport would run out and need replacing during the holiday.

The Zumba instructor spoke with staff at the post office, who assured her that the new passport would be back within two weeks.

After a fortnight, it had not arrived.
