A man is trekking through jungle on the other side of the world to raise money for the hospice that looked after his partner’s stepfather in his dying days.
Michael Potts, 35, of Wantz Road, Maldon, is undergoing a ten-day trek through Burmese jungle villages to raise money for St Luke’s Hospice, Pitsea.
He said: “I’ve never done anything like this before and I’ve got a long way to go with training.”
“The work the hospice did was absolutely wonderful when my partner’s stepfather was dying and it means a lot to the whole family.”
On 31 May Mr Potts is holding an event called 'Trek Burma For Pete' at the Bewick Suite, Maldon.
Tickets cost £7.50 and include food and a raffle and two bands, Legacy and Wanderin' Soles will be playing.
