Five schools out of twenty in our area may be affected by strikes tomorrow.

The National Union of Teachers has called for a day of action on Wednesday 26 March, meaning some teachers will not be in their classrooms.

The strike is over pay, pensions and working conditions.

While 15 local schools said they would not be affected by the strikes, five schools are only partially open.

Neither St Francis Primary School, London Road, Maldon nor Heybridge Primary School, Rowan Drive Heybridge, could comment on whether they would be opening tomorrow or not.

Although Cold Norton Primary School, in St Stephen’s Road, will be staying open some classes may be affected.

Two local secondary schools, William De Ferrers and Plume, will only be open for years 11-13.
