Handbell ringers raised more than one thousand pounds to help feed the hungry.
The All Saints Maldon Handbell Ringers raised £1,532.80 through ten performances over the Christmas period.
The money was collected for the Maldon Food Pantry at the Elim Pentecostal Church on Wantz Road.
Susan Parker, 69, of Chelmsford, one of the handbell ringers, said: “This is the most we have ever raised.
“We decided to choose the charity because it does very important work, especially around Christmas.”
