Shocked passers-by rushed to help a man “covered in blood” after he had been stabbed multiple times.
The 42-year-old man rang police shortly after 1pm on Monday to report he had been stabbed by two men in a house in St Peter's Avenue, Maldon.
An Essex Police spokesman said he had suffered shallow puncture wounds to his body and the ambulance service said he had injuries to his head, neck and chest.
Neighbour Louise Blanchot, 63 discovered the injured man lying on the ground outside his front door.
The customer assistant at Tesco said: “He was pouring with blood, I think it was coming from the back of his neck.”
