Businesses take to Twitter to put Maldon on the map
Businesses are hoping to put Maldon firmly on the map using just 140 characters.
Last week saw the launch of Maldon Hour on Twitter, an hour-long weekly initiative to support and bring local businesses together.
The idea, which began with Braintree Hour, was launched by Braintree councillor Stephen Canning.
He started the project in May and within five months, in the space of one of the hour-long slots, almost 1,500 tweets were sent out to reach an audience of more than 75,000.
Businesses not only tweet about their services but get to know one another and share tips.
Mr Canning, who has since set up Chelmsford Hour and Southend Hour, hopes the newly-established Maldon Hour will also go from strength to strength.
