Armed police swarmed a quiet street after a man was slashed across the face.

The officers, along with police dogs, descended on Ship Road, Burnham, on Sunday evening, after the 37-year-old victim was attacked in New Moor Crescent, Southminster, on Saturday morning.

Police arrested a 43-year-old man of no fixed address on suspicion of assault. He is being questioned.

They are still looking for a second suspect.
