Maldon's X Factor star is urging people to donate their second hand beanies in a new charity campaign.

Great Totham lad Sam Callahan, who is currently starring in the X Factor tour, is hoping to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust by auctioning off the recycled hats.

The nineteen-year-old, who reached the live finals in last year’s talent show, is asking members of the public to donate their unwanted beanies and for clothing companies to send brand new beanies, so the hats can be donated to teenagers losing their hair through cancer treatment.

Sam is also asking celebrities to send in their beanies, along with a signed photo, to be auctioned off on eBay in May.
