Farmers have donated hay for flood-stricken colleagues in Somerset.

At least eight farms in the Southminster area have helped the relief effort and Southminster Young Farmers Club have helped collect hay and straw forage.

Southminster club chairman Matt Oliff took a group of farmers from across the Dengie peninsula tothe collection centre in Brentwood to stack bales and load lorries this week.

At least 24 lorries have been booked to take the Essex donations.
