An overturned cattle vehicle has closed a road in both directions.

The Burnham bends on the B1010 near Wrekin Farm in Althorne is shut.

Two fire engines and the fire service's animal rescue unit are on the scene.

A fire service spokesman said: "Firefighters are working to release two large cows trapped following a road crash, which has left the trailer they were travelling in on its roof.

"As of 9.30am, crews were standing by at the scene awaiting the arrival of the RSPCA."
