Villagers will get a chance to see revised plans for a controversial solar farm.

Lightsource Renewable Energy has scaled back its plans for 43,769 photovoltaic panels on fields south of Beckingham Road, Great Totham.

Maldon District Council had refused planning permission in December.

The company’s new plans are for 39,760 panels, capable of powering 3,197 homes.

The number of buildings housing equipment have been cut from 39 to 13 and CCTV cameras have been removed completely.”

A community information evening will be held on Friday, February 28 at Great Totham Village Hall in Maldon Road from 5.30pm to 8pm.
