Lovers of literature are in for a treat.

Three events are coming to the Maldon and Burnham area as part of the Essex Book Festival next month.

Quintessentially English cricket commentator, Henry Blofeld, will be at Layer Marney Tower on March 13 to recount tales from his colourful life story.

Author Louise Levene will be speaking about her book, The Following Girls, at Burnham Library, also on March 13.

And Michael Dobbs author of House of Cards - which was made into a television series starring Kevin Spacey as the iconic Francis Urqhart - is at Maldon Library on March 18.

He will introduce guests to his latest thriller character, Harry Jones, in The King is Dead.
