Maldon is one of the inspirations for artist Dione Page's latest exhibition

Maldon and Burnham Standard: Last Catch of the Day Last Catch of the Day

Dione Page says each of her paintings "contains its own life force and energy to beguile you."

See for yourself at an exhibition of her work, which begins on Tuesday at Hayletts Gallery in Maldon High Street.

Dione lived in Tolleshunt Major until the age of 18 and studied fine art at Colchester School of Art.

Now living a few miles outside Colchester, it was during her early years living around Maldon that she first took an interest in boats and maritime life, which are reflected in her art.

The exhibition runs until March 1. Opening times 10am-5pm Tuesdays to Saturdays.
