Tesco has not ruled itself out of opening a second store in Burnham.
The retail giant, alongside Sainsbury's, Morrisons and Asda, were among those interested in the town back in March 2012.
Last week, the Standard reported how Sainsbury's and Asda had dropped out of considering three potential sites.
Morrisons has since said it could not confirm whether or not it was interested.
But a spokesman for Tesco said: "We are still interested in opening a store in Burnham but do not have any firm plans at this point."
