Christmas trees have been recycled to become bedding for zoo animals.
Shoppers at The Meadows in Chelmsford donated their trees, which were given to Tropical Wings in South Woodham Ferrers.
Some were shredded for bedding, while whole trees and branches have been placed in the lemur, parrot and meerkat enclosures.
