Accidents have been waiting to happen on this stretch of Park Drive ever since the No.75 bus route has used the Mundon Road roundabout as an end of route turning point and Park Drive as a drivers rest area. They first parked their buses up tight on the corners of Mermaid Way so that drivers exiting Mermaid Way had very restricted visibility when tuning right or left. I involved Maldon District Council, the Police and finally John Whittingdale MP who all did nothing but pass details of the bus company to me. After discussion with a manager in Colchester Bus Depot they agreed not to park up on the corners or adjacent to Mermaid Way and started to park on the bends adjacent to the diagonal lines so forcing passing traffic to enter the diagonal boxes. I have suggested to the bus company that they could either extend the route to Morrisons or Tesco where purpose built bus stands exist. They have not taken up either option either the resolutions but regardless of this Park Drive is NOT a safe place for buses to park up for any period of time except to pick up passengers at bus stops.

Unless the bus reversed into the car I can't see how it can be the bus driver's fault. Failing to spot a parked bus is a bit careless.
