A taxi driver had to be rescued from his car after he became stuck in flood water on Christmas Day.
The police were alerted to the stranded car in the Causeway, Woodham Walter, at 10.25pm.
The driver did not know his exact location so the police helicopter was scrambled.
Fire fighters from Maldon and a water rescue team from Leigh then attended the scene.
Crews used an inflatable rescue sled to release the driver from the car and bring him to safety.
The driver was released by 11.23pm and did not suffer any injuries.
