An iconic home is on the market.
The late architect Richard James French built his family home, Whispering Trees, in Mayland in 1986.
The A-frame timber framed house is one of the area’s more unusual buildings and is loosely based on a Saxon cruck barn.
Mr French, who died more than five years ago, also designed a similar church in Canada and his work can also be seen in the A-frame homes in St Lawrence and houses along Esplanade West in Mayland.
Son Wayne Stone currently lives at Whispering Trees and shares ownership of the family home with his brother and sister.
