A villager whose car was struck and written off is calling for a lower speed at an accident “hotspot”.

Fed-up Iain Major, 45, of South Street, Tillingham, was shocked when a BMW ploughed into his Renault Laguna, his neighbour’s Renault Clio and into the corner of a nearby house last Wednesday morning.

Hi car also had a rear wheel knocked off.

The Ford engineer, who also had his work car hit when it was parked outside his house in 2012, fears that a car may end up crashing through his front room.

Now he wants Essex County Council to drop the street’s speed limit to 20 miles per hour as well as install speed bumps.

He said: “It’s lethal. The way the street is the cars park on one side of the road and we have to park on the other side, we create a natural chicane."
