A mum who was found face down in a hot tub died as a result of an accident, an inquest heard.

Rachel Wharton, 53, of The Drive, Mayland, was found dead at home on July 3 this year.

Paramedics were called and attempts to resuscitate her were unsuccessful, Chelmsford Coroners Court heard on Wednesday.

The court heard that when Mrs Wharton was found, the hot tub was still on and a bottle of wine was nearby.

A toxicology test showed that she had 348mg of alcohol in 100 milliletres of blood - the legal drink drive limit is 80mg in 100 milliletres of blood.
