A bronze statue of a man picking fruit has been selected to be built in Tiptree, at a cost of £25,000.
Villagers were asked to choose from designs made by six artists and picked Neal French’s life-size sculpture.
It will be placed outside the community centre in Caxton Close.
The cash has come from a developer via a planning agreement and had to be spent on art for the village.
