Members of CAMRA and pub regulars outside the Rose and Crown, Maldon
Campaigners have made a bid to list their pub as a community asset.
It comes after Punch Taverns put the Rose and Crown in Maldon High Street on the market three weeks ago.
The newly formed Rose and Crown Community Pub Action Group has applied to Maldon District Council to list the pub as an asset of community value.
If accepted, they could be given six months to prepare a bid to buy it if they wanted to.
