Damaged floodgates cause flooding in Burnham
9:00am Wednesday 11th December 2013 in Local News
A damaged floodgate left premises flooded on a quayside during a tidal surge.
Water flooded the quay in Burnham, flooding the Anchor Hotel and Crouch Harbour Authority, and nearby roads.
There was a flood alert for the coast from St Peters Flat to Shoeburyness including the Crouch and Roach Estuaries, but no flood warnings or alerts for Burnham, the Dengie Marshes and tidal River Crouch from Creeksea to Battlesbridge.
